The Catholic News Agency takes much of its mission from its sister agency, ACI Prensa, which was founded in Lima, Peru, in 1980 by Fr. Adalbert Marie Mohm (†1986). It was the German missionary’s desire to provide a steady flow of Catholic news to the secular media and to end-users in order to increase the visibility of the Catholic Church in the public square and help in its mission.
Today ACI Prensa (www.aciprensa.com) is the largest and most visited web-provider of Catholic news in Spanish and Portuguese.
