Shrew VPN Client

Shrew VPN Client

The Juniper Netscreen Remote VPN client (model NS-R8A-010) is being end-of-lifed on 12/31/2009.  With that news, plus lack of support for a VPN client on Windows 7, users are scrambling for an alternative. There is a open-source program called Shrew that seems to be the answer.. the cool thing about Shrew is it’s universal.. it will work with Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Netgear, Linksys, Zywall and many others. Read more about Shrew + download for free:  http://www.shrew.net

SAS 70 is important to our clients involved in healthcare, insurance, banking, and e-commerce.  It’s a way for you to prove to your clients that you are...

Plesk Auto Login

PEER 1 Managed Hosting just had a Plesk 9.X training with Todd Crumpler from SWSoft. Plesk 9 has lots of cool features.. I’ll write more about it later. One take away from our meeting is a feature of Plesk that has been available for years. You can embed your username and password into a bookmarked URL sting. This gets around having to type in your Plesk username / password every time you login to the control panel. https://yourserver.com:8443/login_up.php3?login_name=admin&passwd=yourpassword

IBM Cristie Bare Metal Restore

PEER 1 has always had the ability to backup a server with IBM Tivoli software. Tivoli works great but the issue is that it only does a file level backup. In the event of a failure PEER 1 would have to start with a fresh O/S and then restore files back. The server then has to be totally reconfigured which could take hours or days. Cristie is software that runs in the background of Tivoli. It allows Tivoli to backup the critical O/S files even if they’re in use. This will allow us to bring a server back online from a BARE METAL RESTORE. This is one of the most EXCITING products PEER 1...

At PEER 1 we have a 24/7/365 team of system administrators located in Atlanta that will be here when you need us. The best part is I’m right here in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Call me at 678-365-2828 for a proposal.
